WebMate AI Assistant is a plugin I built and published in the wordpress.org plugin directory to add an AI chat assistant to any WordPress site in minutes.
- Enter an API key in the dashboard; the plugin relays visitor messages to the configured provider and shows replies in real time.
- Model, welcome message, colours and window position are configurable; the UI is lightweight and theme-friendly.
- The API key is stored server side and never sent to the browser.
Built in PHP following WordPress plugin standards (security, sanitisation, translation-ready).
